HILLINGDON PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA was formed in 1985 as a local amateur orchestra. Its membership consists of local musicians over the age of 18 who wish to continue and develop their orchestral playing. There are now over sixty registered members.

The Orchestra does not hold weekly rehearsals but meets for four rehearsals before each concert.

Three or four concerts are given during the season in different venues within the Borough of Hillingdon. There is also a “Repertoire Day” for players, when we try pieces we might not get to play in concert, either because they’re too simple (but fun!) or may prove too challenging. Non-members are welcome to participate – see our website for details.

A very wide and varied repertoire of over 300 works has been performed over the last thirty-five years.

Thanks to Covid-19 we weren’t able to put on concerts in the summer and autumn of 2020 however we were able to put on a socially distanced concert in July this year. We are now preparing for our next concert on the theme of The Battle Of Britain which will be held on Sunday 17th October 2021 in an exciting new venue for us – the Uxbridge Battle of Britain Visitor Centre.
