HILLINGDON PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA – NOW CELEBRATING ITS 40TH YEAR!

HILLINGDON PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA was formed in 1985 as a local amateur orchestra. Its membership consists of local musicians over the age of 18 who wish to continue and develop their orchestral playing.
The orchestra does not meet weekly but there are four rehearsals before each concert, usually on a Thursday or Friday evening in the 3 weeks before a concert and in the afternoon on the day of the concert.
We always need more string players and there are vacancies in other sections too, particularly brass and percussion. Please use the Contact Form to register your interest or email hpohonseec@aol.com.
We also hold an annual “Repertoire Day” when we try out pieces we might not get to play in concert, either because they’re too simple (but fun!) or would prove too challenging to perform well. Non-members are welcome to participate. This usually involves a morning’s playing followed by an optional lunch at a local pub or restaurant before continuing to play in the afternoon. Non-members are welcome to participate – see Rehearsals & Repertoire Days page for details.
A very wide and varied repertoire of over 400 works has been performed over the last forty years – see Repertoire page for the full list.
